A Lovely You – Makeup Tips for Every Woman

Fall Color Trend: Cobalt

Posted on: September 22, 2011

One of the hottest beauty trends this season is cobalt. Whether swept on lids or shining on nails, this classy color looks good on every woman. Keep reading for a few of my favorite ways to rock the look this season.

A coat or two of Butter London Nail Lacquer in Blagger looks great for day or night, and works well for  women who want to try this trend without going overboard. If you’re on a budget but still dig cobalt, try Essie Mesmerize. It’s about half the price of Butter London’s version but is still a gorgeous, rich cobalt blue.

Admittedly, pulling off such a daring shade can take a little work but it’s so worth it! If you want a perfectly coordinated cobalt eye, try L’Oreal Studio Secrets Color Smokes Quad in Cobalt Smokes. It’s budget-friendly, goes on smoothly and will instantly make your eyes pop. Alternatively, you can choose to merely accent your eyes in cobalt blue with CoverGirl Perfect Blend Eye Pencil in Cobalt Blue. The built-in smudge brush on the end will help you perfect the look.

If you want to get really adventurous with the trend, try these Cobalt Blue Hair Extensions. It’s a great way to try out a funky new look without committing. Plus, they’re fully customizable so you can cut it to match the length of your hair while adding a vibrant pop of color to your locks. For something a little more low key, go with a cute hair accessory in cobalt blue such as barrettes or a headband.

Do you like the cobalt color trend for fall? Which way will you wear it? Let me know in the comments, and as always, stay lovely!
