A Lovely You – Makeup Tips for Every Woman

This month, I’ve picked a few favorites from my beauty cabinet that continue to impress me. In no particular order, here they are!

1. Color Club Nail Polish in Love ‘Em Leave ‘Em

Despite the fact that I’m drawn to brights and neon colors during this time of the year, the pretty light golden brown of this polish is seriously gorgeous. Plus, it’s holographic and shimmery in sunlight! Seriously, look up a swatch of this shade – you’ll fall in love. Normally I’m ADD when it comes to polish and have to change it every few days, but this puppy has been on my nails for a week now and holding up nicely.

2. NYX Ultra Pearl Mania

These are a lot smaller than I realized initially, but a little goes a long way. This loose shimmer eyeshadow is really pretty and can be used to create a variety of looks (I have Orange Zest, and it’s a very nice, bright orange – not clownish, though.) The shimmer is very visible, but it’s flattering and not over the top. Plus, it’s super easy to blend.

3. Pacifica Tuscan Blood Orange Body Butter

You can read my review of this body butter here – if you do, you’ll know why it’s made the list of favorites this month! Not only does it smell absolutely divine (especially when you layer it with the matching perfume,) but it’s very moisturizing and leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth almost all day long. It’s also fast absorbing and non-greasy, so you don’t have to worry about having an icky, heavy film on your skin after applying.

What beauty products are you currently loving this month?

White/silver metallic eyes were popping up on runways everywhere, and this look is one of my favorite spring beauty trends for 2012. To get the look yourself, check out these beauties:

This look just needs a wash of metallic silver/white over the lid, and voila – instant glam. You can jazz it up with two coats of black mascara, if you like. Alternatively, ditch the eyeshadow and add a pop of metallic sheen to lids with a silver eyeliner.

What do you think? Do you like this latest spring beauty trend?

In no particular order, here are the products I’m currently loving this month.

1. NYC Smooch Proof 16HR Lip Stain

It doesn’t last for 16 hours on me, but it does last for a pretty long time – I’ve been able to eke out 5-6 hours of decent wear before I feel like reapplying. Plus, I love how the color is buildable from a sheer flush to a more intense shade. The marker-style applicator is also a bonus and makes this stain super easy to apply and use.

2. NYX Powder Blush in Angel

Typically, I use cream or gel blush, but this budget-friendly powder blush from NYX is GORGEOUS on me. It goes on sheer, but you can build the color until you achieve your desired result. I have fair skin, so this pinky blush leaves a sheer wash of color that’s very flattering.

3. Bath & Body Works Japanese Cherry Blossom Fragrance Mist

An old favorite of mine, I’ve renewed my love for this fragrance and have been wearing it almost daily since the end of last month. I like to layer my matching shower gel and lotion with this mist so I’m wrapped in yummy scents all day long.
