A Lovely You – Makeup Tips for Every Woman

One of the hottest trends for spring seems to be navy eyeliner. Less harsh than black, navy eyeliner can make a smokey eye really stand out. A few to try:

1. Revlon ColorStay Eyeliner in Navy, $4.99, Target
2. Tarte EmphasEYES Aqua-Gel Eyeliner in Navy, $18, Sephora
3. L’Oreal HIP Studio Secrets Professional Eye Liner Pencil in Navy, $8.49, Drugstore.com

Fortunately, navy works well with pretty much every skin tone – so any woman call pull this look off. Even though navy can look softer than black, take care to keep the rest of your makeup neutral to avoid clashing (especially if you are doing a smokey eye.) You can have a lot of fun playing around with navy eyeliner, either wearing it alone or combining it with other colors for an eye-popping look. Normally, I stick with black liner – but this season, I think I’ll be trying navy to switch things up a bit. What about you?

Coloring your hair at home can save time and money, but only if you purchase a quality dye that won’t wreak havoc on your tresses. The next time you get the urge to switch up your look, consider one of these five at-home hair color kits.

1. Clairol Nice ‘n Easy with Color Blend Technology

This permanent hair color offers a wide range of¬† natural looking shades, and combines highlights, lowlights and shine for dimensional hair color in just one step. It’s a gentle, long lasting color and very easy to use. When I dye my hair, I typically choose red shades but other dyes fade to an icky orange color. With this dye, I don’t have that problem! When the red fades, I am left with a pretty auburn/brown shade that looks just as good as when it’s freshly colored. Lovely!

2. Clairol Natural Instincts Hair Color

For a semi-permanent color that gently covers grays, Clairol’s Natural Instincts Hair Color is the ticket. Most semi-permanent dyes leave a dull, flat look to hair but this product gives true, natural looking color in a mere 10 minutes. Plus, it leaves hair feeling soft and conditioned, not dry and brittle like harsher dyes.

3. Garnier Nutrisse Nourishing Multi-Lights Highlighting Kit

This is one of the best and easiest at-home highlighting kits I’ve found, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. The kit includes a non-drip applicator allowing you to deposit color exactly where you want it, and can be used on both color treated and natural hair. While I love getting my hair done at a salon, the expense kills me; this at-home highlighting kit helps me keep up appearances without spending an arm and a leg to do so!

4. L’Oreal Excellence Creme Haircolor

A protective pre-color serum that comes with this haircolor ensures your hair will stay smooth and conditioned even after you color, and the non-drip formula makes applying a breeze! With a wide range of shades to choose from and 100%, long lasting coverage for grays, this haircolor offers superior results at a bargain price. How can you go wrong?

5. Manic Panic Semi-Permanent Haircolor Cream

Even though this isn’t a “traditional” hair dye, for those of us who like to experiment with funky colors from time to time, Manic Panic is a must. A wide range of look-at-me shades are available, from vivid red to electric blue and everything in between. Plus, since it’s semi-permanent, you don’t have to be afraid of a long commitment.

Do you color your hair at home? Have you used any of the products featured here? If so, leave a shout out in the comments. Don’t be shy! And, as always, stay lovely.

I live in a climate that is primarily warm and sunny nearly year round. As such, it’s almost always sandal season here and my feet need to be in tip top shape! I wanted to try Neutrogena’s Norwegian Formula Foot Cream because it’s fairly inexpensive, and I had heard good things about it. I can tell you now, I was NOT disappointed!

First Impressions

When I first used this foot cream, the scent took me by surprise a little¬† bit. It’s not unpleasant, but it does have a much stronger scent than I thought it would – almost like a man’s cologne. I also noticed that the cream instantly soaked into my dry, rough feet and provided immediate relief, which was a definite plus. This foot cream also claims that it will last over 17 hours, and while I didn’t count how many hours my feet felt moisturized, I will say that I put it on in the morning and it lasted well into the evening. I didn’t even have to reapply!

Overall Rating

Overall, I would definitely give Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Foot Cream 5 out of 5 stars. Compared to all of the foot creams I’ve used over the years, this one takes the cake. It’s smooth and non-greasy, absorbs instantly while providing immediate relief, and lasts for hours. If you are in the market for a new foot cream, I definitely recommend you give Neutrogena’s a try!
