A Lovely You – Makeup Tips for Every Woman

This month, I’ve discovered a few new favorites among my beauty arsenal that I’d like to share with you.

1. Ulta Super Shiny Lip Gloss in Poppy

When they say super shiny, they really mean it – this lip gloss packs a seriously shiny punch. The colors are designed to be sheer, so even though “Poppy” looks frighteningly bright in the tube, it imparts a sheer red color on my lips. You can wear this alone, but I like to layer it over a more pigmented lip color for a great look.

($5-8, Ulta)

2. Pacifica Tahitian Gardenia Perfume Roll-On

If you love the smell of gardenia flowers, you will adore this perfume roll-on. This is the only Pacifica product I own, but I am eager to try other scents from the brand because I love this one so much! It smells quite strong at first, but it fades after a few minutes on skin to a light floral fragrance that’s irresistible.

($12, Pacifica)

3. e.l.f. Mineral Eyeshadow

I haven’t used my mineral shadows from e.l.f. in awhile due to my well-known obsession with L’Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow, but I decided to give them a go again and I totally remembered why I  loved them so much in the first place. I have three coordinating shades of pink and purple that look absolutely lovely on the eyes and are really long lasting for such a budget shadow.

As a lover of all things beauty, I have been known to splurge a time or two (or three!) on expensive makeup. However, nothing beats the thrill I get when I purchase a budget-friendly product that works just as well as more expensive ones. With that in mind, I’ve compiled this list of the best budget eyeshadow I’ve tried throughout the years. None of them are more than $10!

1. Maybelline Expertwear Trio Eyeshadow

I love the shade selection of Maybelline’s Expertwear Trio Eyeshadow ($3.99.) Whether you want to create a neutral look for daytime or a classic smoky eye for evening, you’ll be able to with this dynamo product. The shadows glide on effortlessly, and leave behind a silky, finished look that doesn’t cake or smudge.

2. L’Oreal Wear Infinite Single Eyeshadow

This beautiful shadow blends beautifully and drenches your lids in lush, highly pigmented color that can be worn alone or combined with other colors for a gorgeous look. I like to use one shade as a base, and blend one or two other shades on top to create a more contoured, defined look. ($4.79)

3. CoverGirl Eye Enhancers 4 Kit Shadow

I love the bright, poppy colors of these shadows – they work especially well for the spring and summer months! For $4.99, you get four blendable shadows that are perfect when worn alone or combined. The compact even comes with how-to tips to help you recreate the look you want in minutes. Plus, the shadows seem to last for hours, even when I don’t use a shadow primer first. Beautiful!

4. e.l.f. Studio Cream Eyeshadow

Don’t let the price fool you – e.l.f.’s Studio Cream Eyeshadow packs a wicked punch for the mere price of $3.00. The creamy shadow glides on beautifully, and doesn’t cake or crease like a lot of the cream shadows I’ve tried in the past. The shade selection is nothing to laugh about, either – plus, it’s almost completely smudgeproof! Give it a try, and I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.

5. Sephora Collection Jumbo Liner 12HR Wear

Sure, these jumbo pencils are technically eyeliner, but they can easily be blended as shadows – I use them this way all the time! The pencil glides smoothly over lids and eliminates the mess of traditional creamy shadows. They won’t tug, fade or crease and, after a long evening of dancing, I found the color stayed put throughout the night! For $10, stock up on a few of your favorites and blend together for a truly customized look.

While these are my top 5 favorite budget eyeshadows, if I missed one of your picks don’t be afraid to nag me about it in the comments section 🙂 As always, stay lovely!
